We are getting excited and the wedding planning is coming along great. We are loooking forward to a prosperous 2010 and are excited that we will be with all of our friends and family to celebrate our matrimony.

How Did Rebecca & Kristian Meet?

Many of you may know how our story began but for those of you that don't, I will begin to fill everyone in on the details.

Our First Encounter
It was February 7, 2003 and I (Rebecca) had decided that I was going to go out to the Cove with my friend, Erin Parker. It was beautiful night. The weather was great and perfect for a girls night out at the Cove which is located in Deerfield Beach on the Intracoastal. As we arrived, the flock of people at the Cove was overwhelming (as usual) and hard to navigate. Erin and I made our way to the outside near the water.

As we approached the water, we noticed a group of good looking men and much to my surprise Erin knew one of them. The one she knew was Jeff Phipps who is one of Kris' best friends. Erin had played soccer as a child with Sally, Jeff's little sister. Standing to the left of Jeff was a tall blond haired blue eyed cutie and he proceeded to introduce himself to me. "Hi I'm Jonathan...." . I then said "well nice to meet you Jonathan, my name is Rebecca.

We talked and laugh almost the entire night about yoga, the stock market, weird people passing by us and many other things. Many of my friends passed by and I introduced "Jonathan" to them, we were having a great time! As the night started to wind down and more drinks started to flow, Erin and I felt and urge to go sing karaoke. So we decided that we were going to leave. "Jonathan" and Jeff were leaving as well and "Jonathan" came up to me and I could tell he was attempting to get my phone number and he said "ummm, Rebecca, well, I don't know how to say this but I want to get your phone number but my name is NOT Jonathan "... I said to myself "what?" Anyway, I did not make to big a deal out of it and laughed it off and I then asked "well, then what IS your name?" He said "my name is Kristian Longo".

I gave him my phone number on a napkin (he still has the napkin 7 years later). As I walked out to wait for Erin to pull the car around, I was waiting by the valet by myself. Who should pull around in their car??? Jeff and Kris and want to know if they can give me a ride to Nippers (a "fine" karaoke establishment). I don't know what compelled me to get in a car with two complete strangers, but I did and we drove to Nippers where the night continued on to be a blast! The rest is history! -Rebecca

The Engagement

It was October 16, 2008 and we had traveled to Cocoa Beach, FL. for a weekend getaway. We were staying at our friends picturesque condo directly on the beach. The sun was setting and we were getting ready to go out to dinner. Kris had decided to go outside and have a glass of wine while I finished getting ready. The sun began to set and the weather was perfect. I heard Kris yelling from outside to hurry up and finish getting ready and I thought nothing of it. I finished getting ready and made my way outside to the landing right on the beach and we sat and drank wine and talked about how beautiful the sun looked as it was setting. For a second, I turned back to look at the condo and when I turned around, Kris had dropped to one knee and he proceeded to tell me how much he loved me and how I completed him and how he could not live without me! I began to cry with tears of joy and shouted out "YES, YES, YES I will marry you".

We are excited that we have many people coming from out of town to spend our special day with us. We have reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort at a reduced rate.
